Jacklyn: A Lifelong Champion for Youth
Jacklyn has dedicated herself to empowering young people in her community throughout her life.
Early Inspiration:
- Even as a high school lifeguard at Laurel Run Pool, Jacklyn recognized the importance of mentorship. She fostered confidence and water safety skills in young children by teaching them to swim.
Building a Foundation:
- During her college breaks, Jacklyn worked as a playground leader at Cherokee Ranch. Here, she provided a safe and structured environment for kids to enjoy their summer days. Through games and activities, she instilled valuable life lessons like fairness, sportsmanship, honesty, and respect.
Coaching the Next Generation:
- After starting her family in Muhlenberg, Jacklyn volunteered as a commissioner and coach for the Muhlenberg Township Athletic Association's youth girls' basketball and softball programs.
- As commissioner, her organizational skills ensured smooth operation by scheduling practices and games for young athletes (ages 8-12).
- As a coach, she emphasized teamwork and sportsmanship, laying the groundwork for her future success in developing strong female athletes.
Passing the Torch:
- Jacklyn currently teaches a dental program to high schoolers in the Reading and Muhlenberg School Districts. Her passion for dentistry and community service is evident as she equips the next generation with the knowledge and skills to become caring dental professionals.
