Since taking office, Representative Jacklyn Rusnock has been a strong advocate for the Muhlenberg Fire Department, working to ensure first responders have the resources they need to keep the community safe. Through her support of state funding initiatives and local partnerships, she has helped secure critical equipment upgrades and improve access to training opportunities for firefighters. Her commitment to public safety is reflected in her ongoing collaboration with department leadership, always prioritizing the well-being of both emergency personnel and the residents they serve.

While only in her first year of service, Representative Jacklyn Rusnock's has helped secure funding for many different apparatuses and help to find a path to more grants and funding in the future.

“I have immense admiration for the dedication and courage our firefighters show every single day. They put themselves in harm’s way without hesitation to protect our families, our homes, and our community. It’s because of that selfless commitment that I work so hard to secure funding for updated equipment and essential resources—so they have the tools they need to do their jobs safely and effectively. Supporting them isn’t just a priority, it’s a responsibility we all share.” stated State Representative Jacklyn Rusnock.

Representative Jacklyn Rusnock has been a taking the time to understand the training and the sacrifice the firefighters go through on a daily basis. Most of our communities have volunteer firefighters. No Pay for these Men and Women of our Fire Departments. And in other departments we have paid staff on call at all times. This is an amazing balance for our department heads. The struggles of our community lacking with volunteers for our first responders is a concern of the Representatives. She is working together wo find new ways to help find new volunteers and also how to budget for our paid responders.

“Watching our firefighters train in live burn exercises is both humbling and intense. Seeing them move into a burning structure with such focus and discipline really brings home the risks they take and the skill their work demands. At the same time, Chief has taken the time to walk me through every step of their training process, explaining the strict safety protocols and how carefully each scenario is controlled. His reassurance—and the professionalism of the entire team—makes it clear that while the conditions are real, their preparation is even stronger. It’s that combination of courage and commitment to safety that gives me confidence in their ability to protect our community.” expressed Rep Rusnock.

“We are stronger together isn’t just a slogan—it’s exactly how we support and protect our community. Our firefighters rely on teamwork every time they respond to an emergency, and that same spirit carries over into how we work to support them. By partnering with the department, local leaders, and our community, we’re able to secure the funding and resources they need to stay prepared and safe. When we stand together - on the fireground and in our efforts to invest in public safety—we build a stronger, safer future for everyone.” replied State Representative Jacklyn Rusnock.
